Sharon Sitler, LPC

 
 
Sharon moved to East Tennessee after living in the Central Florida area for 46 years and growing up in West Orange County. She has a Masters degree from Reformed Theological Seminary, a Bachelor degree from the University of Central Florida in business and an Associate degree from Florida State University. Sharon began working in the mental health field in 1997. Prior to working in the mental health field, she worked as an analyst/estimator for a defense contractor for ten years. She left defense contracting to pusue a career in counseling. While in school for her Master's degree and upon graduation, she worked for two community colleges and a four year university. She coordinated a career education program and was on a team of evaluators contracted out by the state to evaluate career programs statewide. In 2001 she was President of the Florida Tech Prep Network. She has served on both regional and national Christian Association of Christian Counselors (CAPS) Boards. And has coordinated local events for the Knoxville CAPS Chapter. 
 
She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee, Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, and a National Certified Counselor. She has also completed a 25 hour Healthy Sexuality certificate program from the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). She is currently working on a certificate in Trauma and Stress from AACC. Sharon has worked for Ebenezer Counseling Services for the last nine years. 
 
Sharon's areas of specialty include: working with survivors if sexual abuse and/or trauma, marriage counseling, working with children/adolescents and families, working with women's issues, working with those struggling with depression or anxiety, and career counseling.
 
She has presented numerous workshops at both local and national levels. And, has taught at churches in Florida and Tennnessee. Her presentations are interactive and can be tailored to a number of different audiences. She continues to be a talk show guest on local radio station Joy 620 AM. She has written numerous articles for a local newspaper and Christian magazine.
 
Sharon and her husband, Ed, live in the Knoxville area. They are currently pursuing guardianship of two young boys. They enjoy being involved in their local church. They also love gardening, woodworking, birdwatching, traveling and NASCAR races. Ed remains a Software Architect for a company based out of Florida who has graciously allowed him to relocate. They also have two cats they've adopted from the Humane Society since moving to Tennessee. They moved to Knoxville to be close to family already in this area.
